Christmas in July

Saturday, TBA, 9am-12pm in the Fellowship Hall

More than 11 million shoeboxes will go to over 100 countries in the name of Jesus!

How much joy can be put in a shoebox?  This simple gift, given in the name of Jesus, is a powerful tool for evangelism and discipleship.  Lives of children and families around the world are being transformed.

A special team of shoppers are purchasing the gifts for the Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.

No shopping involved for this project, but you may sponsor shoebox gifts by:

1) Placing a check ($30 per shoebox) in the offering plate or the repository located by the church office. Designate “OCC Shoebox” on your check or

2) Click on the button below and pay online.

Make plans to come to the Christmas in July Shoebox Packing Party for Operation Christmas Child Saturday, TBA at 9am - 12pm in the fellowship hall to help pack 1000 shoeboxes (500 for boys and 500 for girls) and pray for the children that will receive the gifts.  We need volunteers of all ages!

Collecting Fabric

Last year, GEC packed 1000 shoebox gifts for the Christmas in July / Operations Christmas Child shoebox event.  500 shoebox gifts contained sewing kits along with fabric for girls to practice sewing.

This is a big project, therefore, we’ll begin collecting fabric, cutting squares, counting and sorting now for Christmas in July.

We are collecting fabric (fabric squares) at the info desk each Sunday morning or at the kiosk outside the church library MON – FRI.

Cotton or cotton blend fabric works best cut into 10” x 10” or 11” x 11” squares.

If you would like to contribute fabric squares for the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and you don’t have scraps of fabric around the house, consider Fat Quarters

(Fat Quarters are pre-cut fabric squares all bundled together and sold at any craft or quilt store.)
