2011 Mission Trips

India Medical and Dental Trip / Jan 13-23

This was the 4th Grace Evangelical Church (GEC) team to respond to God's call to show the love of Christ by caring for those in need.  We were hosted by NATIVE, a ministry based in Hyderabad supported by GEC.  In addition to these med/dent teams and monthly support, GEC has supported NATIVE through Women's and Pastor's conferences and by sponsoring the construction of Prayer Huts (village churches). For the first time, we partnered with another church, Christ Chapel Bible Church (CCBC) in Ft. Worth, TX.  CCBC is also an independent evangelical church which has been supporting NATIVE.

India Pastors Conference / Feb 6-12

400 pastors attended the conference this year and had the opportunity to hear Dr. Young and Will Savell teach rich doctrine so they can go back home and share all they've learned this week.

El Salvador Medical and Dental Mission Trip / May 28 - June 5

This trip is one of the core activities of the Memphis CMDA chapter, a ministry supported by Grace Evan.  Its an opportunity for us to expose students to the blessing of serving in missions.  During this trip, we can demonstrate hearts of Christ-centered servants to these students as well as to the people of El Salvador.  In addition to the joy of obedience to the Lords call to missions, those of us who don't get to work with trainees on a regular basis get the blessing of interacting with the next generation of health care professionals.

Guatemala Family Mission Trip / July 16-23

Central America Basketball

El Salvador / June 4 - 10
June / June 25 - July 1
Costa Rica / July 2 - 8
Guatemala / July 9 - 15
Panama / July 23 - 29

This summer was the first time since its inception in 2003 Basketball Central America we reached every single country in Central America.  Coach Simons and Clark McFerrin traveled to Nicaragua in February and put on a clinic for the first time in that country.  Basketball Mission Teams traveled to five other countries this summer to demonstrate the love of Christ by sharing the Gospel and teaching basketball fundamentals.  It is easy for people to say, “I am not a basketball expert, surely I can’t contribute on a trip like this.” You really don’t need basketball expertise to be involved in Basketball Central America, because when we have a heart to serve God always finds a way to use it.  This summer’s trips were all different in their own way.  Some clinics were mobile, moving from one location to another during the week, others stayed and taught in one facility for their trip’s duration.  Come join us in 2012!

Czech Republic English Camp / July 21 - 27

This mission team taught ELL (English Learning Language) classes to college age students.  There were many that were strengthened in the Lord, including us, and there were many non-Christians who have been challenged in their thinking including one who made a profession of faith.

India Grace Sathuluri Conference for Women / Sept 1 - 11

This is the 10th annual Grace Sathuluri Conference for Women in Hyderabad India.  Each year we go to India with the intent of blessing our Indian sisters, and each year we return home far more blessed by them and by our gracious Lord. GSCW is truly a heart-changing, life-changing experience. For our Indian sisters, GSCW is one of the high points of their year.  They live as lights of the gospel in a very dark place. We will be hosting over 600 Indian women at GSCW!  To staff a conference of that size, we will need at least 14 women on our team...but we can accommodate as many of you as God calls to come.  Has God given you the gift of teaching?  Do you love talking with other women about our Lord?  Do you enjoy working with children?  Then GSCW may be the place where you can use your Spiritual gifts to God's glory this year.  Will you join us in 2012?
